MSA eligible sheepmeat categories

For all sheepmeat products to be MSA eligible, they must meet certain carcase requirements with respect to:

  • Carcase weight
  • Fat score or GR measurement
  • Dentition (presence of incisor teeth).

It is also important to be aware of any additional company specifications which may include a carcase weight range or fat score.

Note: GR measurement is taken at the standard site, 110mm from the midline over the 12th rib.
